| WHO WE ARE
The Peace and International Relations Section consists of two people, the
Section Chief and a CIR (Coordinator for International Relations).
Mr. Yasuyuki Hazama is my supervisor and Section Chief. He was born and
raised on Ishigaki, and has worked at City Hall for nine years, primarily
in the City Development Division. Before that, he worked as a manager of
aircraft components and maintenance at the American Airforce base in Tokyo.
Mr. Hazama speaks English fluently, and enjoys going for walks and reading
books in his spare time.
My name is Matt Topping and I am the Coordinator for International Relations.
I was born in California and grew up in Kenmore, Washington, just north
of Seattle. At university, I majored in linguistics and worked as an International
Peer Advisor for Japanese exchange students from Asia University in Tokyo.
I have been studying Japanese for seven and a half years. In my free time
I like to listen to music, enjoy the outdoors and socialize with friends.
